Child Therapy

Therapy can have a very positive impact on a child’s emotional well being, improving their relationships and even their academic performance at school. Being a kid isn’t always easy and being a parent or caregiver is really hard work. Therapy can support the child-parent relationship through improving emotional understanding and communication and by decreasing conflict. Meeting for 45-60 minutes a week with one of our psychotherapists could improve your home life. Depending on the unique needs of the child and family, we might offer one on one sessions with the child including separate sessions with parents, or recommend family sessions where the parent/s and child work together with the therapist. We are creative in our efforts to build trust, comfort and fun for children throughout the therapeutic process. Some might assume that therapy could be too intense for a child but we ensure that our therapists make sessions enjoyable as we always consider the child’s developmental age, their interests and bring humor, art, music, toys, etc into the work that we do. Starting children in therapy increases their confidence, promotes healthier relationships and better coping through out their lives.
